I hope you got this working well. I have three of these boxes running Myth front ends all with HDMI and all were a breeze to install. Of course, we are now on 11.10 so considerably further along on the drivers.

My thought on SDR is that the unit should cost a good deal less than a unit with all of the knobs and switches etc.......otherwise, what's the point? There is clearly quite a cost saving in the manufacture of such radios. But prices remain (too) high and then I have to add a computer etc. to use one? I look forward to playing with a unit when the price hits a reasonable retail price.
After all, what Ham would not love to mess around with such?

Thanks for the heads-up on "Understanding, Building and using Baluns and Ununs". I'm in the UK and amazon.co.uk sellers were quoting 127GBP for a used copy. I order my new copy from CQ mag and that's cost me under 45GBP with shipping.

Had to have a FET replaced. I sent it to Mike N1EQ and had it back in a week. It ran a little over $100..00.

Just sent it back to him, now the back light went out.

True, I have just been busy. So here it is a short and sweet answer. The receiver itself seemed to be pretty good quality construction wise, but the software he was using (winrad) needs some work. I found it very hard to get to work with my e-mu 0202 sound card. Plus development on it has more or less stopped.

I emailed him one question and never heard from him. Decided to put my effort elsewhere.

The least you could have done was add a few words regarding what you thought of this product. It is extremely difficult to find any unbiased reviews of this device on the web. You input would have been very helpful.

Make sure on the Sound Input and Sound Output Device set to USB Audio CODEC in the station setup tab. Then in the Rig Control tab, select HRD enable and the correct version of HRD. Also check Use HRD for PTT.

After that you might have to play with the MIC Gain in the software and the TX on the SignalLink. Make sure you have the jumpers installed correctly on the SignalLink. If it works in DM780, it will work in JT65-HF.
